Financial health score

Six numbers, five checks, one score. The score itself matters less than which check is dragging it down, so each one shows its own result and what would move it. The weights are ours and are stated openly below - this is a structured self-assessment, not a rating anyone recognises. The maths runs in your browser and none of your figures are saved or sent to us.

WORKABLE, WITH GAPS
64 / 100
The lowest check below is where a month of effort buys the most. Fixing the weakest one beats improving the strongest.
THE FIVE CHECKS
Savings rate 18/30
18% of take-home saved. 20% is solid, 30% is strong.
Emergency cover 13/25
3.1 months of essentials and EMIs covered. Six is the usual target.
Debt load 15/20
9% of take-home goes to EMIs. Under 20% leaves room to absorb a bad month.
Protection 8/15
Health cover in place; term cover is the gap.
Net worth moving 10/10
Up roughly 60% over the year on what you set aside.

How the score is built

Stated plainly so you can disagree with it. Nobody's finances reduce to a single number, and a score that hides its own weights is worth nothing.

Savings rate 30 pts
Saved or invested, over take-home. Weighted highest because it is the one number that compounds, and the one most within your control.
Emergency cover 25 pts
Reachable savings divided by essentials plus EMIs. Full marks at six months. This is what decides whether a bad month becomes a debt.
Debt load 20 pts
EMIs as a share of take-home. Full marks at zero, nothing left by 40%, because EMIs are the least flexible rupees you have.
Protection 15 pts
Health cover independent of your employer, and term cover if anyone depends on you. One hospital admission undoes years of saving.
Net worth moving 10 pts
Whether the total is growing year on year. Weighted lowest because markets and property prices move it for reasons that are not about your behaviour.

Not a credit score, not a CIBIL score, and not advice. It does not look at your age, dependents, job security, city or health, all of which change what "healthy" means for you.

A score from numbers you estimated is a guess about a guess.
